Overview
Cultur'elles Mtl is a Non- profit organization that creates artistic and cultural activities to highlights women of colors. The brief was to create a poster for one of their annual festival. The theme for this festival was back to childhood to celebrate our inner child and and create a space where women of colors can express themselves through various Art forms. The festival offers numerous activities such as Ink Me Out a literary and poetry circle, and Amplify Her Beat: an introductory workshop to DJing, games and Live Music.

Rationale
This project explored two creative directions for Cultur'elles Festival. The festival's audience is a mix of young adults looking to reconnect with their inner child, and parents wanting to share a cultural, artistic experience with their kids. I wanted each poster to carry a strong emotional hook, something that could catch a passerby's attention through instant, nostalgic recognition of childhood memories. The first direction evokes the childlike wonder of summer, with pool parties and barbecues with family on a hot sunny day, while the second brings us back to recess in primary school and the games drawn on the floor. Both explore a different experience of childhood fun, which was the core goal of the festival.
To keep this variety cohesive, both directions stay anchored in Cultur'elles' existing brand identity, reusing the brand's main colors and typography. The poster "Summer Party" pushes this further by using alternatives of the brand logo to create pool floats in the scene, alongside bubbles, reinforcing the nostalgic feeling at the core of both concepts.
